International Women's Day is this Friday, and I thought it would be a great opportunity to reflect on us "women"— capable, strong beings who have the power to embrace who we are and create the change we wish to see.

Growing up in Japan, where gender equality is still a huge problem, it was the norm for me to accept what I was given or not even question being treated unfairly. However, living in the States has transformed my perspective. We have a right to be who we are, seek what we want, and unapologetically speak up for what we deserve.

The journey towards true gender equality has been long and arduous, but women throughout history have shown an unwavering spirit in the face of adversity. From the brave suffragettes who fought for our right to vote to the modern-day activists advocating for equal pay and opportunities, we stand on the shoulders of giants. Their legacies remind us that we are powerful agents of change, unafraid to challenge the status quo and forge new paths.

So, let's draw inspiration from the words of those who have championed the cause of women's empowerment. These strong, empowering quotes remind us of our inherent worth and the infinite possibilities that await when we fully embrace who we are. They are a rallying cry to continue pushing boundaries, shattering glass ceilings, and creating a world where every woman can thrive.
